About Shabeena
Shabeena was born in India, a place known for its deep spirituality, and India has given her a strong foundation in art, music, cuisine, and culture. Since childhood, Shabeena has been exploring many art mediums, such as pencil, acrylics on canvas, chalk and oil pastels, pen and ink, pottery, ceramics, and whatever else she had the opportunity to try.
Having lived in the U.S. for most of her life, Shabeena has an understanding of vastly different philosophies and perspectives. She has always been passionate about art and creativity, particularly when it involves a technical challenge. She is interested in European and Asian art history and architecture, and earned a degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Washington.
Her passion is to provide visually appealing art that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but enriches our understandings of ourselves and each other. Through her art, she hopes to accomplish that, facilitating a focus on our similarities and connections to one another. One of Shabeena’s strengths is the ability to combine technical and artistic skill with knowledge of sacred geometry, universal and cultural symbolism as well as the exciting use of color combinations.
